Mistake #1 Top Diagram - ball is in middle "you get choice" of which side to drop WRONG.

Always nearest point of relief, shown by A<-->B

Mistake #2 Bottom Diagram - ball more on right side "drop on right side" WRONG.

Always nearest point of relief, shown by A<-->B

Last and most important - it's not necessary to have a GOOD drop area just the NEAREST point.

Think cart path on #8. In top diagram "THE WEEDS" would be your nearest point of relief

NOT the right or fairway side.

Don't like the weeds for a drop - don't drop - you CAN hit it where it lies on the cart path.
